My goal for the first half of the year is to help you, my website reader, to start making money from your blog. After all, that's your overall goal for starting a blog, isn't it? And I think it's time to start focusing on achieving that goal.

I understand that you may not be getting significant traffic to your blog yet, and lots of traffic is necessary to make money from your blog. But not all forms of blog monetization is dependent on lots of traffic. Since you're not yet getting much traffic to your blog, and I know you want to make money from your blog as soon as possible, I want to encourage you to start focusing on the ways to make money blogging that doesn't depend on much traffic.

Blogging is very involving; and making some money from your blog every month makes you take your blog more seriously. And you're also encourage to put more effort to grow the blog so you can make more money. And when you do that, gradually you will create a passive income that you can live on.

In the article Making money from a Blog with Low traffic , I discussed 5 Profitable Ways you can monetize a low traffic blog. But out of the 5 ways discussed, the one I think you can profit from more with low traffic is creating and selling your own product, preferably an e-book. And I want you to make that your goal for your blog this year; and I will guide you on how to achieve that goal.

The Benefits of Creating your Own Ebook

Creating your own information product is not as difficult as you may think, and you don't have to be too much of an expert in your topic either. As long as you know some things your blog visitors don't know but would be interested in, you know enough to write an ebook. And creating your own ebook may just be the best way to grow your blog traffic quickly.

Let's look at how it works:

You find a very interesting, well searched topic in your niche (You may already have some content on your blog that can form part of your ebook). You sit down to write some pages of content for it, just like writing a blog post, only longer. Your first ebook doesn't have to be too long, 60-100 pages will be fine for a start. You publish it in a PDF document which will cost you zero dollar to create. You create a cover and walah... you have your own very ebook! Does this seem hard to do? I don't think it is.

And after publishing your ebook, you simply promote it on your blog, forums and social networks.

Having your own ebook, gives you an expert status. And if you make the information worth more than what the reader pays to get access to it, that can get you word of mouth marketing, which will send good traffic to your blog and unsolicited testimonials that you can use to further build visitors trust on your site and show you as an expert in your topic.

And the money part, if you go about it well, at the beginning you can be sure of making between $30-$100 every month from your blog. Let say you sell the ebook for $9.99, since it's your first ebook, it's especially important to offer more for less cash. So at $9.99 with low traffic, if you sell one book a week that's $39.96 a month. And 2 in one week that's $79.92 a month. And it can only grow from there. Whereas if you just add Google adsense all over your blog, you may not get even a click in a whole month. Also there are many channels through which you can distribute your ebook and make sales. So you'll likely make more money.

Though you can simply sign up as an affiliate for someone else's ebook, promote it and make money, but the benefits are not even half of what you get from writing, publishing and selling your own ebook.

If it's your own product you are more confident of it's content.

Your regular blog readers are more likely to trust and buy something that comes from you.

Satisfied readers of your book will promote you, your blog and your book for free.

You know all the efforts you put into the promotion of your book you will reap 100%, unlike when you promote someone else's book.

You get new loyal blog followers and readers as a result of the value your book offered to them.

You become more confident in yourself and your blog and you start making money directly from your own effort. With more confident you will be even more encourage to write more books which equals more money.

If you do a fair promotion, it will create recognition for you among your niche bloggers. And that could bring you some partnership deals. This is otherwise not easy to achieve, especially in very popular niches, but creating your own ebook can get that for you.

This is the next level for your blog right now if you really want to have it generate income for you as soon as possible and increase your traffic. But aside that it's a great way to add more value to your readers, which is most important.

Making Sure your First Ebook is a Success

You may think writing an ebook is difficult, but honestly it's the easiest part of online publishing. Publishing an ebook and actually making sales from it is the difficult part. Some who have mastered the art though will not think it's difficult. And if you are willing to learn and practice, soon it will no longer be for you too.

Like I said before, my goal for the first half of this year is to help you start making money from your blog. I want to get emails saying you're now making money from blog. Oh, how happy that will make me :) To know I have actually helped someone make money. That is why I want to make sure I provide you with all the information you will need to create a professional ebook, but most especially market the ebook so you can make reasonable sales once you publish it.

How to Find a Profitable Ebook topic

Before then, start studying the trend in your niche and your audience most important needs that you can eventually write a book on. Some ways to do this is to set up a Google alert for your niche and keep yourself updated of anything new. Check the most recurrent keywords bringing traffic to your blog, and check your most viewed pages. This should give you a good idea of the topic in your niche that readers are seeking for information on the most. Another way is to ask your visitors and those in your blog newsletter, if you already have one, what topic they'll like a book on. This is a great way toward ensuring your ebook sells when it's finally published.

If you've been to my site recently, you'll notice I announced an upcoming ebook release titled: "Blogging without a Blog - An untapped Goldmine for Making Money Quickly from Content publishing. The ebook would discuss step by step how to still make good money serving a need through information publishing but without using a Blog. The technique is less involving in terms of content writing, and it doesn't take much time before you start making money.

Though I have started writing the ebook, but I have suspended its release for now till sometime in the coming future; because I feel the Practical Ebook Marketing Strategies ebook is more important information to you for now. It's better to first build on what you already know and doing than to bring something new to you that will distract you. Moreover, having this information before that one gives you an advantage, since the major way to making money using that technique is to create your own product.
