There are several amazing benefits of blogging and advantages personally and for business. To put blogging benefits in one sentence, you improve yourself and earn some extra money.
There are so many reasons for blogging aside making extra money.
I have benefited from blogging both personally and in business.
The biggest benefits of blogging is that you can write about anything and everything. You are not restricted as to what you can blog about. You can start a blog on virtually anything and everything expressing your thoughts and opinions on different topics. Giving you your own voice and a chance to be heard since lots of people will read what you write.
While having a voice is what many consider as one of the biggest advantages of blogging, for me it's been improved writing. When I used to publish my articles in a local newspaper, I didn't know there was a way I could write that would draw readers into the article. Or did it even occur to me that there is a better way to present my writing so everyone can easily read it.
When I started blogging, I brought the same style of writing online. But soon learnt that I had to improve. Now though there is still room for improvement, my writing has greatly improved because I practice everyday. The more posts I make, the more better it gets.
So one of the benefits of blogging you will quickly notice after few months of starting is that you're becoming a better writer and typist since you'll be on your keyboard everyday.
It helps your self-esteem greatly when after writing and publishing a post people leave comments thanking you for a great post.
Knowing you are providing information that helps people improve themselves whether financially or otherwise makes you feel useful, worthy, and gives you a sense of fulfillment. What brings more joy than helping others achieve their dreams and goals?
It's the law of karma that good things happen to good people, right?. When you focus on helping others with valuable content you provide on your blog, naturally good things starts happening to you.
There are literally tens of ways to make money from a blog. There are full time bloggers making 6 figure income online from blogging. You can too. It starts with the first step you're taken now, learning. The next step will be practicing and see what works best for you.
Many people see making money as the best of the benefits of blogging but this shouldn't be so if not you wouldn't go far. Rather make the ability to help others your best benefit from blogging and the money will naturally follow.
The biggest of the advantages of blogging as a business is that it start-up and maintenance cost is very low. When starting a business we aim for low to zero cost, easy set up and low running cost. This all applies to blogging.
The investment you have to make when starting a blog is $20 (for your domain name and hosting) and a monthly running cost of about $7 (to keep your hosting). You can also decide to invest nothing and use a free blog service (though not advisable for a business blog).
You can set up a blog and have it in Google in 24 hours. So you can be in business in the next 24 hours!
If you can use wordprocessor then you will have no problem typing and publishing your posts. All that is required to be in business is provide quality unique content and get votes from other sites to them.
This is the greatest of the benefits of blogging for the business minded. Since there are endless ways to make money from a blog, you can have just a single blog that is monetized in several ways. Which is very neccessary for a business - opportunity to create multiple screams of income.
Blogging allows business organizations to keep customers informed of new products/services, business policies and opportunities if any available to them.
Blogging helps organizations to develop stronger relationships with their customers and build trust since they can easily interact with them and get feedbacks through blog comments.
Blogging helps organizations to build brand loyalty.
These are some of the common benefits of blogging and it advantages.

I wouldn't say blogging has disadvantages but it sure takes a whole lot of your time.
You have to be very passionate about your topic to be able to blog part-time. Blogging is usually a full time job. It is really important that you know your topic very well, else you'll see it as a big work that require you to write and keep writing to keep your blog updated, which would always make you feel on edge.
The passion must be associated with blogging to see it to success. So you don't have the passion for the topic? Then have the passion to blog because you want to make money from it and quit that job. You must have strong reasons for blogging that keeps pushing you so you don't feel the toll on you.
Having passion for the topic though is always the best. If making money blogging is your primary goal then you likely won't, because you wouldn't have the patience of building relationship first before monetizing or recommending your products. You will probably start spamming people.
Blogs are easy to set up but getting traffic to it is a major task. This is why most people don't succeed in blogging. The person with the highest traffic wins.
The fact that blogs attach dates to your posts, means apart from feeding the search engines with good content, you also want to do it for your readers. If I visit a blog and I see that the last post was two or three months ago, I usually don't take the blogger seriously and If I don't, it is possible others won't too.
This is because blogs are designed to be regularly updated and people expect that all the time not caring your situation at any time. So you can't just completely ignore a blog and let it run on autopilot.
Though of course you can adjust your blog design so that it does't include date in your posts.
The benefits of blogging of course out weighs what some consider as the disadvantages of it. It is only when the blogger lacks the passion for it that we can say that blogging takes too much time. If it is something you enjoy doing, you wouldn't mind the time.
In conclusion, the benefits and advantages of blogging to you and your business are just too much to ignore. So start a blog today. If you're skeptical you can start with a free blog like Blogger, though I really don't want to encourage using a free blog software for blogging.
