Blog optimization is a combination of factors required for page and blog ranking.
There are several factors considered for search ranking, some are not even known to us.
The important ones relating to on site and off site optimization is discussed in this article.
On page or on site optimization is how you write and present or display your blog and pages.
Is your specific keyword used properly in specific places on your blog, such as the title and categories?
Is your template and permalinks search engine friendly?
Do you write keyword focused content?
Are your pages well inter-linked?
How fast does your site load? How easily accessible is your content to your readers?
These are the important areas to look at for site optimization.
Off page or off site optimization according to many has to do with the number of links pointing to your site. But it is more than that.
Off page is everything that happens on your blog but that you have no much control over.
Backlink building is the major aspect of off page optimization but like I said not all.
There are some other things that the search engines track to determine if a site provides value or not. Like tracking the time a visitor spends on your site.
The logic to this is that if you provide value naturally readers will spend more time reading through your site content. But if not, they leave as quickly as they came.
So if visitors to your site don't always spend more than a few minutes, it simply goes to tell the engines that they didn't find the value they wanted.
The search engines with this try to judge natural human reactions.
Definitely building backlinks is a major aspect of off page optimization. So you want to ask yourself:
How many links points to my site? How many of those links are from related sites?
If you provide real value a lot of people will willingly link to your articles without you even asking for it.
Do you inter-link your articles in a way that directs visitors to the exact information they want?
Proper inter-linking of articles will keep visitors on your site longer than they would normally want to spend.
Optimizing for off page also has to do with your relationship with other bloggers.
Do you make comments on other blogs? If yes, is it relevant comment?
Naturally if you leave relevant comments, you get more people checking out your site. And the bloggers will notice you too.
All these put together is blog optimization.
So how do you put all these things in place?
Below is a list of things to do and a brief discussion on them.
You do an effective keyword research before buying a domain name to be sure of your blog keyword.
There are templates that allow for detailed configuration for search engine . Though if you install the All in One SEO pack plugin this wouldn't be as important.
If you are bad at designing or designing ideas like I am, leave it simple. You can never go wrong with a white text background.
