Can I Make Money Online? Comments from Online Business Owners

The question to be answered here is: Do you have to Help People to Make Money Online?

In the newsletter of this website for the month ending February 2011 I discussed whether or not helping people online is necessary to make money online. And that was because Vic, a read from smartpassiveincome.com (one of my favorite blogs) made the comment "I don’t care about helping people. I ONLY care about making money."

That line of statement is just an excerpt from his comment.

After reading that your immediate reaction would be to criticize Vic for his statement, because almost everybody is saying it that to make money online you have to be willing to help others. So it's now believed to be the golden rule even by people who don't practice it.

While we all know that helping people is the best and most rewarding way to do business online and offline, but think about it careful, do you think Vic is wrong? Do we necessarily have to help others to make money online?

Remember while providing value can also be seen as helping, it is not necessarily helping.

I welcome comment on this because I know that it will greatly help beginners who want to learn to make money online to hear different down to earth opinions on this issue. The mis-interpretation of this might just be the reason many people are failing to succeed online.

Does everyone who want to make money online really have to help people in the literal sense of the word? Assume now that a beginner is asking you, "please I need your honest opinion, Can I make money online if I don't help people?" What would your response be?
