In this article I explain the step by step way of forwarding a Godaddy domain name to a different web address.
Why Bother with Domain Names Forwarding
Domain forwarding lets you automatically direct visitors who type other versions or extensions (.org, .net, .biz, .info) of your domain name to your primary domain.
Or perhaps you have a site or page you want to promote but it has a long URL difficult to work it. You can buy a short and sharp domain name and have it forward to the actual site or page address.
Like I said in the article how to choose domain name , it is working smart to buy different versions of your site domain name to protect your site traffic in future.
What the lazy bloggers or webmasters usually do is to buy a domain name similar to that of a site they know is getting huge traffic.
And fill it with similar content so that visitors that mistakenly type that version of the site domain name that they bought will go to their site; thereby reaping from where they did not sow.

To explain domain forwarding better, say you create a site with the domain name relationship-advice-that-works.com you can then buy these other versions.
relationshipadvicethatworks.com
relationship-advice-that-works.net
relationship-advice-that-works.org
And have the above 3 versions of the domain names forwarding or redirecting to relationship-advice-that-works.com that way you hardly lose your visitors to other sites.
Free Domain Name Forwarding
I already discussed how to buy Godaddy domain name in the above article link. Godaddy allows free domain name forwarding and it doesn't take more than a minute to do.
Hoping you already bought a Godaddy domain name , go to Godaddy and sign into your account.
Below your domain names, click on "Manage domain"
Select the domain name you want to forward to your main domain.
Look below the page that appears. By the left hand side you will see "Forwarding: off manage"
Click on "Manage" then enter the domain name you are forwarding it to and click on "Preview" a little above. Just to confirm that everything is right.
It will show you a thumbnail of the URL site you entered. Everything confirmed, click "Ok".
You will then see a message that reads: "Your changes have been submitted. Please allow a few minutes for the changes to take effect"
Log out and some minutes later try accessing your main site with the forwarded domain.
