Google Adsense Tips For Dummies And Beginners
You've heard Google adsense is the easiest way to make money online, but do you know how to go about it? Google adsense tips answers some of the commonly asked questions by beginners about adsense, including how much you can make and Google adsense approval tips.
Google Adsense tips - Introduction
What is Adsense
Google Adsense is the most common and perhaps lucrative pay per click program there is. Pay per click programs are networks that allow online publishers to sign up for free to their network, and upon the approval of their accounts, publishers can create ads, copy the codes, and paste on their sites. With the code on their site, the ad networks can automatically display ads related to their site content, and when visitors click on the ads, the networks share their profit from the ads with the publishers. The amount made per click ranges from few cents to a dollar or even more depending on the cost the advertiser of the ad paid the network, often referred to as cost per click (CPC).
The higher the CPC, the more money a publisher can make.
As the name already suggests, adsense is another advertising network owned by Google. And adsense is one of the easiest ways to make money online. Why? because your adsense account is credited as soon as a visitor clicks on an ad on your site, it doesn't matter whether the visitor actually takes an action or makes a purchase when he or she visits the merchant's site, as is the case with affiliate marketing, where you only make money when a visitor makes a purchase.
Google Adsense tips - Frequently Asked Questions about Adsense
Where Does Google Get the Money to Pay Me?
Google has another advertising program called Adwords , Adwords welcome webmasters to advertise their business (website, products and goods) per click. That is those advertisers pay Google for their advert per click basis. And there are very few topics you'll write about that advertisers are not paying Google money for advert on, it could be their website because they can't take the time to build backlinks and wait for search traffic, or a product they just launched, ebook, software and so on. Google likes to please their clients, so in other for their clients ads to reach as many people as possible, Google started another advertising program called Adsense, to allow website publishers who don't mind displaying ads on their site, sign up for free and display ads on their site and share from Google's profit from Adwords.
With adsense everyone wins. The advertiser gets his ads on the faces of as many people as possible, Google makes more money because the more people that sees the ads, the more people that will click on it, and for the advertisers, the more clicks they get, the more sales they'll make. And for the publisher, well easy money.
What Stops Me from Clicking on the Ads Myself?
If you do Google will know you did and banned you from adsense. When you're banned, you stay banned. Google monitors these adsense ads and clicks. In fact if too many clicks are coming from a particular source, whether or not it's you, you could get banned. So you must be honorable when using adsense, aside from getting banned, remember that people are paying for these ads, as someone clicks on an ad, someone loses money (the advertiser) and someone gains money (Google and the publisher). So it would be unfair to the advertiser to lose money over untargeted or curiosity clicks. When you do things right, you won't need to encourage people to click on the ads, your ads will be related to the information the visitor seeks on your site, therefore he or she will click on it without a second thought making you money.
Google Adsense tips - How Much Can I Make From Adsense?
This is a two way question. First can you make money from adsense? and if yes, how much?
Can I Make Money from Adsense?
Not everyone can make money from adsense for the following reasons:
- Some topics don't have advertisers. And no advertisers, no targeted (content related) ads. So before adding adsense to your site, you want to make sure that your site content have ads, if not the ads showing on your site won't be related to your content, and when it's not, it's less likely that visitors will click on them.
- Lack of traffic (site visitors). Articles are common where people are told that all they have to do to make money from adsense is to start a site, write content and add adsense. That is not true. There are many sites online, the fact that your site exists doesn't mean people know about it, or that people visit it, and with nobody visiting your site, nobody will be available to be interested in your ads. Google adsense success is greatly reliance on high site traffic.
How Much Can I Make?
How much you can make depend on many factors.
- The cost per click for your topic keywords and related keywords. Some CPC are so low that it's almost useless to bother using adsense. And some so high that you can make a dollar per click. If you want to make decent income from adsense , do a research and ensure your site primary keyword and most of your related keywords are profitable with adsense. See the article

- The quality of your traffic. Where is your traffic coming from and who are they?
Visitors who come to your site through a search, are more likely to be interested in the ads on your site. And if most of your visitors are web savvy, the lesser clicks you'll get since they can easily identify ads, some even delibrately avoid them. Whereas if your visitors are not regular online surfers, they are more likely to click on your ads when they visit your site.
- The number of site visitors you receive. The higher your traffic, the more money you'll make. Regardless of what I said above, if you have really high traffic, you'll be able to make a decent income from adsense no matter where your visitors are coming from.
- Your blog and page optimization . If your site is well optimized for your content keyword and each article you write is focused on a keyword, the ads displayed will be closely related to your content, and the more targeted your ads are to the content of your site, the more likely that your visitors will click on it.
- The ads format you use and how well you blend them to your site content. In this case, no particular ad format works magic for everyone, you'll just have to keep testing different Google ad formats and colors to see what works best for you.

Google Adsense Tips for Site Approval
- Google likes quality sites, so before signing up for adsense, it's advisable you read the Google webmaster guidelines and ensure your site complies with their guidelines and policies.
- Ensure that you won't be needing to change your country of residence after applying for adsense, because once your account has been approved, you can't change your country, except to re-apply for another account, which can be much trouble. This is from my experience.
- Google doesn't state how many pages you should have on your site before applying for adsense, but they sometimes turn applications down for not enough content. So it's wise you have a decent number of pages on your site before applying for adsense.
- Some think Google also take into account the number of traffic your site gets, though Google didn't state this but it makes sense, Google wants sites with good traffic so that they are sure their advertisers will benefit from the sites. So wait till you're getting some traffic, at least 100 visitors a day before applying for adsense, anything below that would hardly get you any click anyway.
