Helping People Vs. Making Money Online. It's Relative

You have to find out what his definition of helping people is.

I think there are websites where information is provided which is helpful, but the website owner may have a "closed" door policy as far as questions and helping people with information beyond the scope of what is provided online. But that should be clear so your audience is not confused. And the owner may want to be aware of the consequences of doing so.

In general it has been my experience in life that a helpful attitude brings certain rewards to the general society. That said I know many people who don't like people, or they like people from a distance, or they just don't care to get involved with them except for to make money in transactions with them.

That may work for them. I try not to be judgmental.

But as far as my own values, in general I contribute to people when their is a fair exchange which acknowledges me in a decent way as a human being. But it could be that this person, you mention, treats people decently but just is not interested in "helping" them. So be it. That is their style.

I guess I can't judge them the more I think about it. But it just wouldn't work for me to do business with them. But there is the other argument in that they are "being honest" and true to their nature. Many people would not even say what they are saying, but they feel the same way. So on some level you could say this person is honest.

So however you interpret this, honest or harsh, is up to you. I guess I would have to hear the tone and see the delivery to determine what they mean and I'd like to hear more from them on their "intent".

Intent is important to me.

Thanks for letting me rant on and yet I can't specifically answer your question as there are too many variables.

In general though, I tend to do business with those who have a great customer service ethic. And for me that means they will assist me if I have a question and treat me with respect. But the definition of "Respect" is relative.

There is a great movie by Ayn Rand called "The Fountainhead" and the central character is one who does business on his own terms. He is honest yet fair. But some think he is to "hard". You may want to see this movie,if you haven't, it's a great movie for anyone in the business field. The movie shows how relative perceptions are about how people care to do business.

Thank you for asking.
