Rss can be used for two things. For readers to view content in RSS readers and for increasing backlinks.
This article will explain the simple process of how to get more backlinks through RSS directries using your Wordpress default feed URL.
Wordpress is the pros blogging platform because it has so many benefits including automatically creating backlinks for you whenever you make a post.
Your default Wordpress feed is http://www.yourdomainname.com/feed/. Try it for your Wordpress blog and what you'll see are excerpts of the most recent articles on that blog. There is a link below and above each article excerpts that you can click on to read the full articles.
Those links are actual backlinks to your blog and you get them automatically when you make a post to your blog.
So if you use a Wordpress blog each article you publish gets one backlink automatically through your default Wordpress feed URL.
Of course you need more links for your posts to do well with the search engines. So to increase backlinks you can replicate those backlinks created in your Wordpress feed using directories (RSS).
The directories allow you to submit your feed URL to them and when you do they pull your feed into their sites which replicates your backlinks.
Just like you don't manually update your Wordpress feed, after you submit your feed URL to each RSS directory once, you don't have to do it again to continue replicating backlinks, it will be automatically updated as your Wordpress feed.
No, you can't because the feedburner link linking to your blog post is dynamically created so the link is not a real link. To create a backlink the link must begin with your domain. So not all clickable links count for backlinks.
For a link to count as a backlink it must include your domain name.
The number of backlinks you can build depend on the way each directory stores it links. Some will store just one link to your feed. Some others will store arbitrary numbers of link of their choice. While others will show all of them.
For those that show them all it means you can create more backlinks if you increase the number of lastest posts displayed in your Wordpress default feed.
The default number for lastest posts to show in your Wordpress feed is usually 10, so simply increase that number to any number you want. I don't think it has a limit.
To do this login to your Wordpress dashboard and click on 'Reading' just below settings. Look for 'Syndication feeds show most recent' by the side is a box showing 10, change it to the number of your choice.
The are tons of free to use RSS directories and blog directories sites that you can submit your Wordpress default feed URL to, just go to Google and type in 'RSS directories'.
This is another good way to create some one way links to your blog as the directories don't ask for reciprocal links.
